Speaking to FEMAIL, experts told how Brooklyn and Nicola are among the A-list couples heralding the return to OTT weddings after lockdowns and Covid forced brides and grooms to scale back their plans and limit numbers.

Zoe Burke, editor of Hitched.co.uk, said: 'We recently predicted that 2022 was going to be the return of the big wedding, and it looks like Brooklyn and Nicola were paying attention.
'Our latest National Wedding Survey revealed that weddings are finally getting bigger - overall spend is up 90 per cent compared to 2020, and couples are once again investing more in the whole experience, with a 40 per cent increase in the spend on the venue after smaller weddings were the norm over the last few years.

Meanwhile last week celebrity stylist Micaela Erlanger wed William 'Mac' Osborne at the Vizcaya Museum And Gardens in Miami after Covid forced them to postpone twice. 
There have been a string of other large-scale nuptials this year already - from Euro aristos to Australian TV personalities - and that's before wedding season really gets underway this summer.    
Zoe explained that not only are weddings a chance to celebrate a union, but they give couples the opportunity to bring together family and friends who they might not have seen because of the pandemic.

'Couples are choosing longer celebrations - making a whole weekend of it.

They're choosing more bridesmaids and groomsmen. 
'Floral displays are bigger with bouquets of blousy flowers and romantic ribbons added. Cakes are higher, entertainment has more WOW factor - the list goes on.
'We are noticing however that couples still are making mindful choices - as they care for the planet as well as each other.

Going big doesn't have to mean being wasteful.  We are seeing two trends really - minimal and maximal so some will choose the former.' 
Brooklyn and Nicola showed that the limitations have been left in the past as they took to the dancefloor with a live singer belting out Only Fools Rush In for their first dance, followed by second song Ben E.
King's classic Stand By Me. 
Ahead of their big day, Nicola travelled to the headquarters of Valentino in Rome to have her gown designed by the fashion house's Pierpaolo Piccioli.
The couple chose to have six groomsmen and six maids of honour, while apparently tasking rapper Snoop Dogg with entertaining their guests as a DJ.
