WWDC 2022 Recap: iOS 16 and Everything Else Apple Announced
Apple M2 MacBook Air Hands-On: Bigger Screen, Higher Price
iOS 16 Features iPhone Users Are Going to Love Most

Apple Maps adds transit fare cards Maps will get several updates. You'll be able to plan trips with up to 15 different stops along the way. If you start planning a trip with the Maps app on your Mac, you'll be able to share that to your iPhone.

Visual Lookup's tap and drag for photos In iOS 15, Visual Look Up analyzes your photos and can identify objects like plants, #ElitePassSeason17in landmarks and pets. iOS 16 takes this to the next level. When you touch a photo's subject like the dog in the image above, you can lift it away from the background and add it to apps like Messages. Essentially it's a tap-and-hold tool that removes a photo's background.

iOS 16 makes sharing keys easier with apps like Mail and Messages. When your friend receives the key, they can add it to the Wallet app on their iPhone. Apple said it's working to make sure that shared keys are an industry standard and free for others.

I originally had just one monitor, which I put on this MountUp desk mount. But I recently bought another monitor a few weeks ago and I'm buying the mount again because the new one is on my desk, and I hate it.

Breville Smart Oven Pro: $266

Save 24%

Confession: I've been eyeing this Breville toaster oven for years -- or at least a version like it -- after using a former roommate's Breville nearly daily. With an apartment move on my doorstep and Amazon's 24% off sale, one of the priciest (and more nicely designed) toaster ovens on the market is now within reach. A hefty unit, the stainless steel Breville Smart Toaster Oven can still be considered medium-size compared to some countertop versions designed to be full-fledged oven replacements.

I play a lot of FPS games, and liked the first Far Cry when it came out. I lost touch with the series over the years, but at $13 it's going to give me a welcome break from endless games of Black Ops Cold War multiplayer.

Day 2 of Amazon Prime Day 2022 is winding down, and there are still plenty of bargains available with just a click of a button. With tens of thousands of sales to sort through, however, it can be tricky to find the . We're scanning all the Prime Day discounts to help you save the most on everything, from smart home appliances to gaming gadgets. But there's a disadvantage to our search for sales. CNET writers and staff tend to spend a lot of our own money grabbing those same bargains.

With two cats and a partner with allergies, I'm long overdue for an air purifier. I've seen this one at my sister's house, and in the background of a colleague's Zoom meetings, so when I saw it as a top product on CNET's sister site Healthline (and that it was on sale for Prime Day), that sealed the deal.

SharePlay comes to Messages SharePlay, which debuted in iOS 15, lets you have a shared experience while connecting with someone over FaceTime. You can watch TV shows, #HighlightFreeFire listen to music in sync and other things. iOS 16 adds the ability to discover more apps that support SharePlay from within FaceTime.

Notifications and live activities Sometimes notifications can cover up your lock screen's photo, so iOS 16 moves notifications to the bottom of your display. As you receive them, instead of being compiled into a list, they appear like a vertical carousel. This not only looks better but should be a big help for one-handed use of your iPhone.

The fact that this mount is able to support a screen of up to 32 inches without any difficulty is one of the things that I like best about it. Plus, if you have a computer that isn't VESA standard, you can still use mount adapters, and connect it to this mount.

Still have a single router? Do yourself a favor and join the mesh network age. My Eero system has been the best upgrade I made in years. Now that I'm moving to a bigger place, I took advantage of the Prime Day discount to buy another Eero set. This model includes Zigbee compatibility, which should help me with future smart home upgrades, too.

Amazon slashed the price of this Regalo model for Prime Day, so I took the bait. This model fits door frames between 29 and 34 inches wide (and comes with an extension kit for doors measuring 35 to 38.5 inches). It's also tension-mounted, which means I won't have to drill holes in my rental house, and the walk-through design will allow us to leave it up all day, even when the "big boy" is let out of his room.

This was a lightning deal on sale for $170 ($100 discount). I'm moving to a new house soon and need a new vacuum.
