IPhone Gamers Spent 100 Million £72 Million On Fornite In 90 Days

A staggering £72 million ($100 million) has been spent by gamers in the first 90 days since Fortnite was released on iOS, new statistics have revealed.
Although the initial download is free, Fortnite includes a number of optional in-app purchases for players to upgrade their in-game avatar.
The most expensive in-app item is £99.99 ($130).
Fortnite, which is also available to play on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Windows PC, Mac, and Nintendo Switch, has taken the world by storm and developer Epic Games is profiting handsomely from the success.
However, news of the video game's latest financial boom comes just a few days after the World Health Organisation (WHO) classified gaming addiction as an illness.

In the three month period it has bee available to iPhone users, the free to download game has made a staggering $100 million (£72 million)
Since its launch on iOS in mid-March, the game has raked in a small fortune, catapulting it amongst the most popular apps around the world.
The survival shooter quickly climbed the ranks of the top 10 free iOS apps following its launch on the platform, beating the likes of Snapchat, Facebook and WhatsApp.
Fortnite was also the most downloaded app on iPad in the weeks after its release.  
The game costs nothing to download and play, but does offer a plethora of in-app purchases.

These include skins, dance moves and accessories.  
According to analysis from industry specialist , the game made more than £19 million ($25 million) during its first month in the Apple App Store, and surpassed £38 million ($50 million) by its 45th day.
The earnings look set to keep growing, as Fortnite developer Epic Games is looking to branch out onto more platforms.

Just last week, the game launched on Nintendo Switch, and within 24 hours had been downloaded two million times.
Epic Games is also purportedly hard at work on a mobile version of the game for Android smartphones and tablets.  
Fortnite is popular among amateur players of all ages, with cartoon-like violence and an open-mic feature allowing groups of friends to chat together during the game.
Epic Games is looking to build a competitive gaming scene around the title, recently confirming plans to plough £72 million ($100 million) in prize money to entice competitive players.
Games such as Call of Duty and Fifa have hugely profitable e-sports platforms, with global competitions and full-time competitors. 
In the history of the App Store, the only games to reach the same nine-figure payday faster than Fortnite are Clash Royale, which went viral back in March 2016, and Pokemon Go.
While it Fortnite took 90 days to clear £72 million ($100 million), Clash Royale achieve the feat in just 51.
That's more than £60,000 ($80,000) an hour spent on in-app purchases alone.
The gaming phenomenon is available on Xbox, Playstation, PC, Nintendo Switch and Slot Online Terbaik 2022 iOS.
